Launch of the Research4Development portal
DFID’s Central Research Department has developed the Research4Development portal (R4D), which promotes new research awarded under the Research Funding Framework. It also provides information about the research activities prior to 2006 in Rural Livelihoods, Health, Social Sciences, Education and Infrastructure and Urban Development. By using R4D you will be able to identify areas such as the topics we fund, the countries where we have research programmes, what the major findings are from them (including access to policy briefs and media outputs) and who is working with us from which country.
R4D provides access to:
- Latest news and activities;
- Associated success stories and case studies;
- Projects and Programme information across all the sectors;
- Research publications and project documents;
- Thematic, cross cutting summaries;
- Research Topics giving more information about specific subjects and research and provide links to research websites;
- Guidance on searching the internet more widely for information on DFID research.
About The Projects and Programme Database
R4D includes a searchable database containing records of around 6000 projects from around the mid 1990s onwards. It provides project information including data on the organisations and countries involved. Where possible the research outputs are included, collected from across all the research sectors. The database is searchable by free text, keywords, or on internationally recognised subject categories.
R4D can be found at www.research4development.info
