RECOUP (Research Programme Consortium on Educational Outcomes and Poverty) is one of the DFID-funded education consortia. It is a partnership of seven institutions from the UK and developing countries - Kenya, Ghana, India and Pakistan - coordinated by the Centre for Education and International Development (CEID), Cambridge University. The Consortium is investigating how education affects the lives and livelihoods of people living in poorer communities in the South, and what policy interventions might best support them.
RECOUP runs its own blog which aims to distribute news, views, the research findings by the RECOUP team and comments on the issues of education and poverty in developing countries.
The blog wants to create conversations around important issues pertaining to education in the context of developing countries, including various options for financing education and their effectiveness in terms of improved educational outcomes; the social, human development and labour market outcomes of education and the poverty-reducing effects of these outcomes; the role of, and impact on, international aid to the education sector on educational outcomes and sector performance, and others. The blog also posts summaries of research and working papers as well as policy briefs produced by the consortium to elicit feedback.
Visit the blog to read posts, view podcasts, access RECOUP partners' websites, browse the RECOUP gallery, or take a look at the RECOUP website for the latest news and full-texts of publications.
