The DFID-funded Consortium for Research on Educational Access, Transitions and Equity (CREATE) has been asked to nominate two suitable PhD candidates for the Commonwealth Scholarship scheme.
Since their inception in 1959, some 26,000 individuals have benefited from the award of Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships to pursue advanced academic study in other Commonwealth countries. About two thirds of awards have been tenable in the United Kingdom. The vast majority of award holders have returned to make a significant contribution to their home countries, in many cases at the highest level, making the award scheme one of the largest and most prestigious in the world.
Candidates for the 2010 scholarships are invited to submit an application to CREATE for one of two awards in the field of educational access:
Candidates should be Commonwealth citizens from (or working in) India, Bangladesh, South Africa or Ghana.
Deadline: Completed application forms (with all necessary information) should be received by 30 November 2009.
