Objectives:
There is a still a scarcity of data about the most efficient mechanisms to invest in health mechanisms which work and yield measurable returns. This study focuses on the new donor led performance based contracting mechanisms used for the delivery of a basic package if health services but non-governmental agencies in Afghanistan. It aims o provide evidence on how to improve health and reduce poverty through well targeted and transparent investment in the health sector in post conflict and low income countries.
